Biebers drop $12m on hudson river condo, trading rentals for luxury
Justin and Hailey Bieber, a couple accustomed to the spotlight, have officially planted roots in New York City’s West Village, trading years of rentals for a sprawling $12 million condo at 160 Leroy Street. After quietly scouting properties in the area since 2019, the pop star and beauty mogul have finally secured a piece of Manhattan’s coveted real estate market.
A niemeyer-inspired oasis by the water
The residence, a four-bedroom unit within a striking 15-story tower designed by Pritzker Prize-winning firm Herzog & de Meuron and developed by Studio 54 founder Ian Schrager, draws inspiration from the modernist architecture of Brazilian maestro Oscar Niemeyer. Its wavy glass exterior, a nod to the waterfront location, ensures nearly every unit boasts breathtaking views of the Hudson River. The building itself, completed in 2016, offers a level of exclusivity that clearly appealed to the Biebers’ desire for privacy.
Beyond the stunning aesthetics, the building prioritizes discretion with a 24-hour door attendant, a porte cochère, and a dedicated parking garage – amenities frequently favored by high-profile individuals seeking seamless and secure access. The Biebers aren’t strangers to luxury living, already owning homes in California and a sprawling 101-acre retreat in Ontario, Canada. Their New York purchase marks a significant shift from their previous residences, including stints in South Williamsburg’s Oosten complex and various Lower Manhattan rentals.

Dual kitchens and marble indulgence
What sets this new apartment apart is its innovative design, particularly the dual-kitchen concept. Imagine a chef’s kitchen perfectly equipped for culinary creations, alongside a more casual “social” kitchen ideal for entertaining. The primary wing is equally impressive, featuring a marble-clad bathroom complete with a soaking tub and heated floors – a sanctuary within a sanctuary. The nearly 2,800-square-foot space offers a considerable upgrade in both size and style.
The couple’s move comes during a year of notable achievements. Justin’s headlining performance at Coachella in April, following the release of his album SWAG, solidified his place at the top of the music industry. Meanwhile, Hailey’s cosmetics brand, Rhode, recently concluded a reported $1 billion sale to e.l.f., a testament to her entrepreneurial success. Adam Heller of The Heller Organization handled the listing, while Romy Hechinger of Compass represented the Biebers. The transaction underscores a continued demand for luxury properties in prime Manhattan locations, even among those accustomed to global travel and multiple residences.
